The SportDOG NoBark SBC-8 Bark Collar uses several features designed to shorten the training phase and promote good behaviour:
A patented sensor system offers the most reliable bark detection available. The unit delivers a static correction via the contact points only if it detects BOTH vibrations from the vocal cords AND the sound of the bark.
One correction mode:
In Progressive Correction mode (indicated by blue/green light, see mode chart for example on page 7), the correction starts at the lowest level and progresses to the next level (to a maximum of Level 9) each time your dog barks within 30 seconds of the previous bark. If your dog does not bark again within 30 seconds, the correction will be reset to the lowest level (Level 1)
Important
DO NOT attach a leash to the SBC-8 No Bark Collar. You may put a separate non-metallic collar on your dog’s neck and attach a leash. Note: Be sure the extra collar does not interfere with the contact points.

Replacing the Battery
Be sure to replace the battery of the NoBark SBC-8 by following the steps labeled below.
The NoBark SBC-8 uses 4L-R44 replaceable battery. When the unit shows that the battery is low (battery icon on the display shows 1 bar or less and/or the light flashes red 3 times every 4 seconds) it is time to replace the battery.
Typical battery life is 200 hours, depending on how frequently your dog barks. Nevertheless, due to greater use during your dog’s training, your first battery may not last as long. To save battery life, turn the NoBark SBC-8 off when not in use.
Follow these steps to replacing the battery:
1. Remove the NoBark SBC-8 from your dog.
2. Remove both screw located on the either side of the Contact Points using the 3/23 Hex Key (included in the box)
3. Remove the Battery Lid by pushing on one side of the collar strap. Removing the collar strap entirely can make the process easier but not needed.
4. Remove the current battery.
5. Install the new battery (4L R44) aligned with the battery icon printed on the inside of the unit.
6. Replaced the battery lid.
7. Reinstall the screws but do not over tighten it.

Important: The correct fit and location of your NoBark SBC-8 is vital for effective operation. The contact points must have direct contact with your dog’s skin on the underside of his neck.
To guarantee a correct fit, make sure to follow these steps:

2. Begin with your dog standing comfortably.
3. Put the NoBark SBC-8 high on your dog’s neck close to the ears. Center the contact points under your dog’s neck, touching the skin. Note: It is sometimes required to trim the hair around the contact points to make sure that contact is consistent.
4. Examine the tightness of the NoBark SBC-8 Bark Collar by putting one finger between the end of a contact point and your dog’s neck. The fit should be snug but not constricting.
